As cities transition toward renewable energy, solar power plays a key role in decarbonisation. Yet its adoption is not evenly distributed — differences in building density, height, and household income create structural and social barriers to installation.
This project investigates
How solar installations are spatially distributed across NYC's five boroughs
Whether dense, high-rise environments structurally limit solar adoption
How household income shapes access to and uptake of solar energy
